help required please

got a pc here that will not boot into windows,it reaches the black loading screen and the bar goes along,but it stops there
i can get into safe mode and everything appears to work
any help would be appreciated

Hmmm if ti works in safe mode fine, and you can get safe mode and networking then i would suggest the following.

Get all the memtest, and hardrive test you can and run them.
If it starts failing while you use them. Ram. if it runs all of those fine, and no bad sectors or such, then id say driver on hdd is in some sort of cycle, or damaged.
Tried running scan disk in safe mode??

I have had this before, think i eventually just loaded the xp install disk to the point of install restarted, or (as i cant quite remeber) had to do a fresh install.

Anything particular u did just before this started.

Im sure ive managed to by pass the boot part that is causing the trouble before by just loading the windows disk to the point it ask you to install then just taking the cd out and restarting. Try it, it sometimes fools it into booting.

Have u tried scan disk in safe mode? that sometimes repairs faulty windows bits.
Doesnt leave you with much but maybe a fresh install.

Go in safe mode
Right click the hardrive > properties > tools tab > scan disk

if your in dos mode.
chkdsk c: /f

Failing that boot up in safe mode and use system restore to go back to a profile that does work (if possible).

i tried to restore first and it failed
currently doing checkdisc before i do full install
