Hi guys my Wife and daughter are in turkey at present
Sadly someone robed her last night and now has no money i need to be able to get £800 to her but she now has no bankcards or anything apart from her passports
what would be the safest way of getting money out to her
??
dont mind paying a small service charge with any bank but how would she get it

i know what hotel she is staying in and also reported the loss of the bank cards now in the uk and stopped any one using them
but rung the visa card place up as she is only a named card holder through me they cant give her a replacement card
which i think sucks
any help would be very greatful
cheers

Western Union.
thats meant to quite unsafe ive heard. try paypal. (or send your cred card and pin to her :D ) <<< only joking dont really do that its unsafe lol

i bet she aint bin robbed shes jus tring swindle ya out of £800 :D :D

lol i wish no sadly she was robbed by knifepoint last night there time 1am
i been married now for over 14 years to her and have children to her sadly i was unable to make it due to work comments
just want a bit of help guys in trying to send her money
the local police there have been very unhelpful
so if any one can suggest a safe method or might have to get a flight out there and peronsal delivery it
but would lose a big contract and would cost me about about 33% of my earning for the year

Could you not speak to the Manager of the hotel explain the situation, Pay £800 to them and maybe they will give her £800.

Assuming its a bigger hotel...

Can you not get her to talk to a bank over there and see of they can help with a transfer? if she has her passport and such im sure they can arrange something ( it may cost you though ).

As a side note this is a perfect reason why its best to always take a least some money as travellers cheques so even if you have them stolen you can always get help and replacements from any accedited outlet. Hope you find a solution fast.

Instead of Western Union try MoneyGram

It is available in Thomas Cooks in the UK and millions of place abroad

I have had to use it before after being stranded at an airport. :)

Western Union is perfectly safe for a transfer to someone that you know. However it is quite expensive and has a maximum first transaction limit of £500 iirc.

Load of cobblers, WU is very secure, just like moneygram. Its got a bad name from nigerian scammers because they use it as a way of getting money.

Yes.. but both parties here know each other and are highly unlikely to scam one another being husband and wife. Have you bothered to read this thread at all?

You've got the wrong end of the stick there mate, re-read his post ;)

To the OP, that's really nasty, hope your wife & daughter are as OK as can be expected :)

WU is probably your best bet, as has been said, speak to the consulate, they'll have dealt with it before and can probably offer some ideas. I suppose you could always courier out a cheque and get it cashed somewhere, not sure how idfficult it'd be to get arranged, probably not very...

WU will be cheaper than couriering a cheuqe, and much less hassle too!
