Hi guys my friend he is disabled and gets the high rate mobility component
now what he normal does is get a motor ever 3 years on the scheme
but now wants to buy one instead from the mobility scheme instead which means he surrenders he mobility benefit for a 5 year term
the scheme will give him a max budget of £12500

so what car would you buy he need a good boot space for his wheel chair and alike
so I am hoping some of you on here will have some tips

can be a new car or a car less than 3 years old to get it through the scheme

wouldn't it have to be modified, and not knowing what would need doing and how much that'd cost then no-one here could advise too much?

Other than saying forget buying new?

no the car does not have to be modified at all just a standard car automatic or manual he is not bothered
wondering if petrol or diesel would be best for keeping one for 5 years now

I would just keep doing what hes doing now, its worry free motoring.

he is driving a 08 plate corsa has to hand it in on the 31 st of september
but has spent over £7.5 k leasing it for 3 years and never owns it
reason he wants to own his next car
losing 7.5 k for 3 years lease it a huge con in my eyes
reason for the thread
when leased through the 3 year term restricted to 36 k for 3 years
but he normal drives less than 6 k a year

he has to pay his own insurance and maintenance when buying it and knows all of this so any information on what car would be helpful now cheers

Only restrictions he has it needs to be be approved car dealership he deals with and thats it so ford, bmw,or what ever
he does not like the VW range at all or PROTONS and thats it
would a nearly new ford car last him 5 years now
and what would it be worth in 5 years from now ?
