Help! S6 won't boot, advice needed

My galaxy s6 turned itself off last night as I was using the just installed Domino's app. The battery was a little low, around 15%, but hadn't gone to 0% using the app.

It wouldn't respond to pressing the power button. When I charged it via micro usb with multiple different chargers that work with other devices fine, it shows the grey battery with a lightning bolt and doesn't change to the battery with green charge level.

I left it to charge for 20 minutes or so and when I tried to start it it gets to the "Samsung galaxy s6, powered by android" splash screen and then goes no further. After it getting stuck here multiple times I left it like that overnight to drain the battery to see if that would help.

I charged it with known good charger for 4 hours today.

Today I've tried vol up and power to force restart, vol down plus home plus power to get to OS install screen and then vol down to cancel and restart phone.

I've tried vol up plus home plus power to try and get to start in safe mode or wipe cache, but it doesn't do anything when I try to press those three buttons together...

Any ideas on anything else to try before admitting defeat and sending it back to Amazon.de?

sounds like the bootloaders corrupted itself

if you can get to the os install screen, you can fix it yourself by downloading odin and the rom from samfirmware....if not, it's back to the shop i'm afraid

As glen said, are you getting to download mode? Bit hard to work out from your post if you managed to get to it and then couldn't reboot or if you couldn't get to it at all.

You might want to get it warrantied in the UK for speed. I'd check with amazon.de if they are going to replace or repair it and if they repair you might want to check if it's quicker with the UK warranty path (assuming they allow it).

Cheers guys.

I can get to download manager okay to install a ROM if needed - if I install the newest official samsung firmware is it going to increase the knox counter/invalidate warranty?

Nope, it's perfectly fine

I bought an o2 galaxy s6 which came full of o2 apps, and bloat stuff.....anyway, I saw a much better vodafone sim only deal so read up on how to flash the phone to either vodafone or just standard samsung

It's very easy to do, but don't do it if your desktop is running windows 10 (big no, no).....get a windows 7/8 machine and do it. Dead easy!

Just download the rom from samfirmwares (takes about 2 hours with a non premium account), un-zip it, load up odin, load in the rom and click start (with phone in os mode)

The firmware is officially signed by samsung, so you are not rooting or anything naughty. In fact, if you send your phone off to repair, they do this anyway

It won't unlock the phone (for that you need an unlock code from your mobile provider), but it will erase everything and reflash it. Once it's finished, I know it sounds silly, but set the phone up and then go into settings and erase. This is because the flash doesn't wipe the sdcard folder and leaves rubbish behind.
