Is this a fresh install onto the new disk? If so you'll need a CD with at least SP1 integrated onto it to support disks bigger than 128GB.

However, if you update to SP2 you can then use the likes of Partition Magic or GParted to expand the existing partition to the full size of the disk.

install .net 2 framework
install nlite
download "SP2 full" it's 270mb ish
copy your xp disc to C:\XPCD

open nlite, choose C:\XPCD, click 'service pack slipstream' and 'create iso/cd' (whatever they say)

use nlite to slipstream sp2 into your files, then use nlite to create a new disc

install with this new disc.

^ Best way. You can also do some other useful stuff like pre-setting the timezone, the system language, the CD key etc to cut down the amount of interaction needed.
