Help! Server upgrade question

We have a Dell Poweredge 840. The chipset in this is an Intel E7230.

Its 775 from what CPUID tells me.

Does this mean that we can stick a dual core or quad core chip in it?

Asset tag into the dell website will tell you whats in there and give you some options to upgrade IIRC.

Indeed, Dell would be the final source for info. However, if I had to guess I'd say that the best you can do is a Netburst-based dual core.
