Help Setting RAM @ 1066mhz

I bought some Kingston ram about a month ago and am just realising it is running at 800mhz!

So first of i think it is daft i buy RAM at an advertised speed that doesnt do it.. why did i pay more? - good job i noticed. but i suppose it is just as much the MoBo (ASUS) as in is Kingston.

Anyways after a quick investigation i poped into bios were i cud chage the frequ. to 1066mhz which didn work.... later changing that and the latency to 5-5-5-15 but can not find a were to change the voltage and a setting for T2 ?!

I am on the latest BIOS of the P5Kc does anyone else have this board?
Or someone with knowlege that could help me... i would be very greatful as i would like to learn.

Appears to be stable and running at DDR2-1066....

Although looking at this:

It says max 400mhz = DDR2-800 and 1.8v so now i dunno what to think.
???
 
Although my system just Blue screened in mid game and restarted before i could get the error code...

i have it maually set to DDR2-1066mhz and 2.2v is there anything else i can do or check?
 
Sounds like you having the exact same issues I had. I set mine to 1066 and it blue screened in a game. Then started blue screening while browsing the web.

I would leave it set at 1066 and download and run memtest86 for a while and see if you get any errors.

Try seting NB to 1.5v now...

Back,
Ok set NB to 1.55v as 1.5 was not a option and the lower option was 1.4v
Also set timmings to 5-5-5-15 leaving it on 1066mhz @ 2.2V

I thought HWMonitor showed what voltage the ram ran at :/ Try giving prime95 a blast on 'blend' for an hour or two (Remember to keep an eye on your CPU temps). If it passes that I'd say it's running correctly :)
 
Sorry how do i run Memtest86 got the windows ISO and stuck it on a disk.... is it a boot disk from start up coz it has no .exe files within it...? lil confused :confused:

EDIT: Appears to have stopped, with one error per core...

Hmm, ok try setting your CPU voltage/vcore to 1.25 this is more than enough for stock (which is what it is at according to your sig) and then try again.
 
CPU Voltage is obviously set to Auto currently... but the min. i can set it to manually is 1.5250v which is a little high over 1.25v ....

excuse my ignorance with this i have not tampered with the BIOS so much before or ever looked into overclocking.

My Prime95 Results:

This was with Ram set to 1066mhz and 2.2v changing anything else would seem to either fail at boot up, Hardware error within first few minutes on prime95, OR while running prime95 it would totally crash inc cursor after about an hour.

Other than the obvious shown can anyone tell me anything about these results as its first time i have done it.
I read the stress.txt but not much options there i havent already done.
...Core 3 is still going.

I dont see how to run memtest... I did burn the iso to disk but theres no autorun or executable file ??? I did ask in a previous post above how do i use it. sorry.

Although my system does seem stable now @ 1066mhz.
But with errors occuring on Prime95 2 hours+ is that something i should be concerned about?

i think i got the same ram as you, mine runs at 1098mhz, 5-5-5-15-24, 2.3V

how are you reaching 1066? changing the ram divider? or increasing the fsb?
 
I have this motherboard and you don't need to change the NB/SB voltages. Nor do you need to change the vcore if your not overclocking.

I would just reset the CMOS and start gain... Assuming stock FSB.. then select the DRAM frequency to nearest maximum setting for your RAM, the VDIM to 2.1v and your latency to 5-5-5-18 and bobs your uncle.. Well he's mine anyway.. If that doesn't work, try one stick of RAM at a time. If one works and the other fails, you have a faulty memory stick..

Just burn the iso to disk using something like poweriso and reboot with the disk in. You then do the usual 'press any key to boot from cd' and it'll automatically run. You don't run it from within windows. Hope that makes it clearer.
 
I wonder if this worked for him or not? I have the same problem, I have OCZ ram and it works fine at 800mhz, However if i set to 1066mhz in the BIOS it hangs and becomes very erratic. Any tips?
