Hi all

I have a i5 750 chip and some sms xmp 1600 1.65v 8,8,8,24 memory

I just finished my build and had a problem with the memory and cpu readings i ran cpu-z and it said i was running my memory at 9,9,9,24 and my cpu at idle was at 1100ghz then jumps up to 2800ghz when at load

i went into the bios and set the ai tweaker from auto to X.M.P as the memory supports this now in cpu-z it says my memory is running at 1600 8,8,8,24 which it should be and my cpu is now at 2731ghz at idle and load.

is 2731ghz the right clock for a i5 750 as its a 2.66ghz ? am i now running my system at the right stock speed ? how can i tell the cpu is not been over voltage to as i dont want to overclock just yet i just want to run it at stock speed for the moment.

and why at first was the cpu and memory set so low is it some sort of energy saving design and can you ahve it turned on but with my memory running at 8,8,8,24 as when i had it set to auto it was running my memory at 9,9,9,24.

the build i did was 6 years ago on a prescot and a lot has changed, can anyone give me some tips to look out for or waht settings in the bios thanks

At stock, the fastest you can run the ram is 1333mhz. You'll have to overclock the CPU to get the ram to 1600mhz. I'm afraid I can't really help you out with the overclocking front as when it comes to Asus boards, I really have no idea :( Auto ram timings also often run the ram slower.
