Well my parts came today, and even though i setup the rig in my sig a couple of years ago without a hitch i feel like a total noob. :p

I can install the hardware without a problem. But i'm confusing myself when it comes to the bios and OS.

Could someone please go through setting this rig up step by step with me to ease my nerves? :D I'm getting confused with all the jmicron f6 on boot stuff. My current rig was just plug in and install OS with no need to do anything beforehand. I won't be using RAID.

Do you want to run a RAID or somthing fancy like that? If not, you probably won't need to make any changes in the BIOS or before you install your OS. Just screw it together, put in the installation CD, and go.

Yep no raid at all. I just read in the manual that if your using the IDE port on the IP35pro you need to install the jmicron drivers. Is this once the OS is installed? Do i need to set the sata drives to anything special before installing? Like IDE mode etc?

I think it's just a simple case of me over complicating things as usual.

I think that with the default settings you'll be good to go. Once you get Windows installed you'll have to do the normal Windows B.S. with installing all your drivers anyway.

Try it out. The worst that could happen is that it wouldn't work. You're not going to break anything. :)

Oh wait! Do the jmicron drivers get installed in XP? And do i need both of them from the IP35 thread in the motherboard section.

Last bump before i start building this thing. With all the IP35 Pro users here you'd think somebody would know. :p

I have an IP35-Pro, with a SATA HDD and IDE DVD-RW drive. Default settings were all that were needed when I booted (Other than having to boost my RAM voltage). Ran XP for a couple of weeks without the jmicron drivers (I never read Manuals...probably why things usually fail for me) and had no problems. Got bored of XP and installed Vista yesterday and just installed everything from the IP35-Pro disk.

Everything ran fine with and without the jmicron drivers.
