Hi,
I just got back from the gadget show where I picked up a turtle beach px5 headset. I've plugged it in, and can hear sound, so that's a good start!
I have a few things bothering me though.
It's plugged into my G1 sniper ( rev 1.0 ) using the optical port.
When I open up the "Creative Audio Control Panel" which was installed with my motherboard I believe, it offers me only 5.1 sound.
Please see pic below:

Ok, that's the first thing. It should be able to accept 7.1, and the g1 sniper should be able to output 7.1. Any idea what the problem is here?
The second problem, is that on the little wireless hub it connects to, it has lights on the front.
One is for Dolby Prologic IIx, which is lit when it is active.
The other is for Dolby Digital Surround Sound, which is on when the dolby surround sound decoder is active.
Why is the second one not lit, is this because it is not 7.1? Is there some setting somewhere on my PC?
Perhaps my motherboard sound chip does not support it, it is the Creative CA20K2 chip.
The next thing is.. I expected it to sound much better than it does, but I have a feeling that's because I haven't set it up correctly. There are so many options it's unreal.
On the Audio control panel alone, there are a lot of things I don't understand.
Enable EAX effects?
X-Fi CMSS-3D?
I can choose the encoder? Currently Dolby Digital Live, but this was "off" before, I changed it.
Then there are the modes on the audio control panel, for entertainment, game mode, or audio creation... I wonder what exactly this effects.
Any help is much appreciated! Thanks!
