I dunno what's happened but everything was working fiber earlier turned the PC off for a while and when I turned it back on again when I reached my desktop it just froze, the image this is.

Turned it off and on again and got the same problem. Now when I turn it on my second card seems to put its fan on full pelt!

I didnt know what was wrong so turned it off and came back to it just now. Was able to get logged on and checked my device list and could only see one card listed? Can't remember if you should see two.

The cards are nvidia pny gtx 580s

Hope someone can help me rectify the problem only got the system up and running yesterday and now petrified I've ****** something up.
:(

You should be able to see both cards. Check power connections (remember two each) and the SLi bridge are fully connected.

If they are try taking out both cards and trying one at a time to see if they work seperatly.

Also have you OC either card or both etc?

Haven't looked into oc'ing anything yet. Just plugged them in and they where working fine yesterday.

SLI was activated earlier today. That's another thing i looked for but there didn't see any feature for SLI settings after this happened. Prob because it was not showing on the device list

Tested each card individually no problems, put them both in again and the bottom one was roaring its fans again. Grabbed a video, just waiting for them to upload.

Ben chilling for the evenin in front of the TV and decided to fire it up again before I head off to bed, no odd occurances this time. Been running just at the desktop for 15mins now and all seems ok.

Both cards as recognised in the device list, how do I check they are running in SLI though?

Check the nvidia control panel andmake sure sli is checked. If it is then they are running in Sli. I'd recommend downloading MSI afterburner and then loading that up and run a game for as bit. That software will tell you how much use each card is getting, how fast the fans are running and the GPU temperatures of each card. This may help gain a better understanding of any issue but if each card is ok individually Id maybe start to think its the motherboard but do what ive said first and we can help from there

This all looking ok now?

Dont have any games to try at the minute, well have minecraft but is that going to be good enough?

I doubt minecraft will utilize SLi loading properly but you could just get the Crysis demo or download steam and find a demo for Batman AA on there. That will push the sli load and then you could see. your screen shot shows everything to be set up correctly though :)

Right still playing up, sometimes I turn the system on and its recognised other times it will turn on and the fan kicks in always the bottom card and then doesnt show up in the device list?

I think its dead :/ Turned on PC and showed in device manager - and sli enabaled after a small amount of websearching it disappeared from list and sli not enaled.

Fan isnt even spinning on it anymore :(
