Help spec a gaming rig

Its been a little over a year since i had a gaming PC so im cluless on the latest specs.

Im looking to spend up to £2000 without the monitor (I still have a 24" 1920x1080 for now).
Needs to include back lit keyboard and decent mouse.
 
Gaming, browsing etc. Never used CAD or done any video editing.

I did think about a 3930 build but i get the feeling it's a big over kill for the money involved :confused:
 
to be honest, all you need is a 3570k build. you make make it look the dogs bells for under your budget.

Or you could go for a 3820 build, little bit more, though i don't think you'll utilise the power.

That's what i'm thinking so far, is there anything you would change?

I'm also torn between a 3930K & EVGA X79 Classified Intel X79 (Socket 2011)
or 3770K & Asus Z77 Sabertooth Intel Z77 (Socket 1155)?

If you go the Z77 route, this RAM will match nicely - http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-064-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387 - the tall RAM height will be ok with a closed loop water cooler.


Edit..The H100 wont go into the case.

Yes i like all black or black and red. I loved the classified i had in my last rig and really tempted to buy another.

Shame about the FT02, i quite like that one. I'm still debating about custom water cooling again but i don't want a giant case :(
