My last wireless just packed in and lasted about 11 months.

I'm looking for a palm held mouse for gaming.

What's the best wireless mice for this that can have replacable batteries? I want the mouse to last over 2 years.

If it's really recommended then I might go for a wired mouse.

Thanks for any help

Few points
What sort of budget you looking at?
Re wireless, rather than replacable batteries why not look at rechargable mouse, eg this
As its for gaming Ill have to give the advice that wired is better, you get no input lag, if you play a lot of FPS this can be an issue

No real budget, as long as it lasts. Rechargable batteries will still eventually pack in so rather have something I can stick some aa's in.

I have used wireless mice for fps's for quite some time and never noticed any lag, is it noticable going to a wired gaming mouse?

I'd always go for a wired mouse. What if the batteries run out in the middle of a game? Also, you have to make sure you're stocked up with replacements. Wired mice have none of this, and just work. If you get a good quality mouse like a Razer or Logitech, you'll barely even notice the cable is there. Most of them have long cables, so you can route them to your PC easily enough.

My recommendation: Razer Copperhead, Razer Diamongback 3G, or Razer Deathadder. All of those three get very good ratings, and are very nice mice to use. I've used or seen all three of them, and I can't fault them.

I personally own a Diamondback 3G. Looks very nice, runs very smoothly, and I've not had a single problem with it.

get an mx518 , u wont like the feel of copperhead/3g unless u have small hands ... the deathadder is slightly bigger. If you want a mouse for gaming you have to go corded.

Ok thanks, are they all palm style mice as I hate claw style mice. If I could get a few consistant recommendations that would be cool as I have very poor internet access at the moment but really need one.

Is spending £90 on a mouse worth it such as the high end razer? Do mice last 3 years any more as the lasers seem to go on me.

There's nothing wrong with the size of the mice, it depends if you always hold your mouse with your hand making contact at all points. Plus, the MX518 i believe is a heavier mouse. If you want something chunky and overly weighted, go for that. If you want something light and easy to slide across the desk, the Razers are the way to go.

I don't like the feel of a heavy, large mouse, so my hand always hovers slightly above the mouse, holding it with space so i can move the mouse without moving my wrist at all. Got to give all the information. It's so easy to move the mouse around that you don't need all that effort. fingertips are enough to move them.

*edit* just saw your comment about 'claw' and 'palm' I guess you're talking about how your hand is... I suppose i'd admit that the diamondback is more of a claw mouse, but i find most logitech mice to be too heavy.

all razer mice are generally claw mice , i would suggest an mx518 like i said earlier or the MS3.0 as they are the best two gaming mice anyway .... dont believe the hype around razer they are just well branded and a lot of competetive css players hate them ( i happen to be an exception ).

The mx518 is a very good mouse on a budget, however if you can stretch to a deathadder you wont be disappointed- its a great palm mouse. Upgraded from an mx510 (very similar to the mx518) and never looked back since.

I'd personally recommend the Intellimouse 3.0. If your playing first person shooters and don't want to compromise your skill with the hardware you use the ms3.0 is really the way forward. I'm sure anybody who knows what they are on about will agree with me here.

yup , MS3.0 is by far the best bang for buck and along with the mx518 is the most used mouse by competetive fps players
