Well, I cant test anymore. Its not the PSU, memory, CPU or gfx do must be the mobo although power is getting to it. Press the button, everything whirs into life then dies. No beeps nothing.

As this rig is 4 years old its time for an upgrade. Core 2 Duo would be great. Dont need gfx but needs to be able to handle vista.
What I need:

Mobo
CPU
Memory (2Gb preferred)
Hard Drive

£300 to spend really.

Its just a home PC, nothing more than word, email and internet. With this in mind, do i really need Vista Business? (not included in the above budget)

Pls Help!

could drop the hard drive to something like the seagate 250gd, memory to 2gb and up the processor to the q6600 as other options.

Are there any boards you'd recommend that had onboard VGA?

For Word, email and internet?

Get whatever CPU is cheapest! I vote Celeron E1200.

Whoops I didn't look at that.

In that case, I would say get an E2180, or an E2200 if you're not overclocking.
