Help speccing a friends first build

Going to help a mate of mine put together his first PC as I had to stop him buying a pre built system.

He's looking to spend around £500 give or take. No need for monitor or peripherals.

Its not going to be used for intense gaming. Some gaming and general use I would say.

One question I have is it worth waiting for Haswell or will that be to expensive for a 500ish budget?

wait for Haswell and what the 7xx series is like from nvidia. Then decide. It might also driver prices down of the generation before too. Not long to go now.
