I was clearing out games I dont play on Steam, and uninstalled the whole steam folder. Yes Im a noob lol

So have I lost all my saves for all my steam games.

I have tried to recover with so called free software (but they are never free). Can anyone recommend a true free bit of software. (I used to have some a long time ago but cant remember what it was called.

TIA

AFAIK nearly all steam games store their saves in the My Documents folder or buried somewhere in user/appdata.

And I don't think that uninstalling the game deletes these folders and stuff. I might be wrong as I have never "uninstalled" a steam game.

Or turn steam cloud on - if your game saves are out of sync it will warn you and ask you what to do (i.e. do you want to overwrite them).

in future use game save manager to back up your saves

I love this program. Thanks to this I have my save game backups from years ago. I love the Steam Spreader utility included too.

When uninstalling Steam Games, or any program/game. The contents of your user profile are normally left intact. As most PC game saves are stored there I find it odd that they have all uninstalled too. Even if the save games are stored in the Steam directory they are never stored in the game folder itself.

Good luck recovering them.
