help, stuck on ep2 lol

No they are not, I am not talking about the 2-3 hunters that go with each Strider, there is 2-3 Striders who make a fast run for buildings (leaving hunters behind), you need to get them 1st if you want to save buildings for bonus.;)

I didn't notice it either in 1st the time I played it, maybe it only appears in the level if you are playing hard difficulty?

I think this is right - occasionally you hear really fast strider's footsteps and last night I magnussoned a strider without having to kill any hunters.

This is a really tough battle btw, one which I'm stuck on lol.

The sawmill gets destroyed? didn't in my game :eek: just run the hunters over in the car, instant death, striders wont shoot at you if you are behind it, fire the one and only magnessun device you have (don't miss :p) and shoot it, go get some health and armour if needed, pick up another magnessun device, repeat. GG

EDIT: remembered the name of the weapon now :D

PS. There are 2 types of stryder, although i think they are the same type of stryder in different positions, they crouched down in the original hl2 and moved faster then too... but as above, kill these 1st (i think i was just lucky and got to them quickly enough) Oh yeah, no destroyed buildings \o/ got that achievement award! andon that note, has anyone got all of the achievements? still can't find one of the stash's with the radio transmitters, missed a web somewhere, and need to kill 9 more grubs :(

EDIT2: wasn't much of a fan of hl2 or ep1, but i actually enjoyed ep2 a lot more than the others, even more so that it has some replay value with the achievements. Loved portal too, awesome concept!

Thats what I try and do, but the hunters jump out of the way at the last minute more often than not :( You have to be going fairly fast to kill them by running over them.
 
Yeah cheaky **** the hunters are, they'll try and shoot the M device off strider as well if you don't take them out first. Running them over can be quite tricky as well as they tend to jump out of the way at the last sec leaving you plunging into a tree/rock.

Drive towards 1, hit N-O-S at last min and you hit it fast (or miss), you dont have time to recontrol car for 2nd so jump out and Shoot 2nd with all fire on Pulse Rifle, it dies instantly.

Jump in car and catch up with Strider and do your business to it, then rinse and repeat, stocking up on supplys where needed, some also in the short break in mid level scatter lots of spare Mag Bombs all over the area.

When you run them over, turn the car into a skid and donut on the area the hunter was on, more often than not you will clip him, and this tends to do the trick, you don't actually have to be going that fast to kill them :)
 
Yay - I managed to do it ... just :D One of the striders got close to the base but I magnussoned him before he destroyed the last building. I'm not even going to attempt to do it while saving all the buildings lol.

I've never noticed this. I noticed some striders that were lower to the ground, but that was purely because their 'knees' were bent. Mainly to get a better shot of me, I imagine. Turned round after getting some health and a Magnusson, and found myself staring a strider right in the eye, followed shortly by a less-than-dramatic death. :o

Only works if you happen to have said alt-fire ammo. :(


Actually, saying that, I never even checked my pulse rifle either time when I played that battle. I never had any ammo for it while playing the rest of the game - is there ammo for that in the buildings too?
 
im on chapter 6 now, should have it completed tomorrow, i've heard the ending is sad :(

least i've got COD4 now and it looks amazing, no doubt i'll be posting on here for help :p
 
are you using a joypad to play the game or something?

dead easy part, and i was playing lying down on the floor with mouse on a rough carpet!
