help switching sessions

hi running ubuntu,

when i press ctrl+shift+f1 (f2,f3 etc) i should get a terminal session right? all I get a is garbled screen.

any ideas

Do you mean ctrl + alt f1 etc?

Thats what it should be set as default with ubuntu. : )

yer, It only works with F7 was under the impression I could have multiple terminal sessions open? and 2 xservers running

ctrl+alt+F1..F6 should all be terminal sessions, with ctrl+alt+F7 being your graphical session. In what way do you mean garbled?
