SO my friend has a custom built PC and he is having some issues.
The other day he went to start it up and it just would post at all, no video output, no bios splash screen, no beep codes. nothin. The weird thing was that the fans spin up, the cpu fan spins up, the CD/DVD drive also starts up and you can also hear the HDD starting up but nothing.
He has had problems in the past with this system, he had blue screening issues and had to replace his ram. I suspect this is a power supply issue as the one he has is just a generic ~400w PSU. I suspect that even though it's only a year old the generic PSU hasn't lasted.
Although one other thought was that it was his motherboard at fault since there is not even a bios beep, but a psu is probably cheaper to replace than an entire motherboard.
he is using a Gigabyte 78lmt-usb3 board with an AMD quad core (i'm not sure what cpu specifically it is) and a generic PSU
any help would be much appreciated thanks!
