Hi guys
As a lot of you will be aware I'm doing rebuild, now I've already got my PSU, the above, but as I'm sending my case off for modding it wont be for a coupla weeks til I actually do new build. Now at present I am running old rig outside case, rig is sat on desk. Figured I'd check PSU now rather than wait another coupla weeks then test it and find dreaded DOA or something then have issues with time lapsed etc. So anyway I hooked it up n powered up and all is running fine, tried a quick spot of gaming & I've run IBT+furmark to stress system, no issues with current system coping, however the fan on the PSU is not spinning, it spins up briefly on initial power on then stops, figured this is part of its hybrid fanless system, where it doesnt spin below 20% load, but surely gaming/IBT+furmarks gonna push it over 20%? Only thing I can think is cos its sat on desk its not getting hot? But it doesnt mention anywhere about the fanless system being related to temp, just load.
So anyone any ideas? Or anyone got this, or one of other models able to confirm if theres does same? Dont want to wait 2/3 weeks til got new system then find the fans faulty on the unit and have difficulties RMAing cos of time lapsed
Current system is [email protected]/6 cant recall ATM and a 560, surely enough to be over that 20% threshold
