Help to Configure Dual Monitor...

OK im trying to setup a dual monitor setup (extended desktop mode). Here is my setup:

* Standard 19" Monitor Connected via VGA Cable
* 32" Bush LCD32TV24HD TV Connected via HDMI Cable (Audio & Video)
* Standard PC Speakers connected to PC Sound Card
* nVidia ION Graphics Chip (with Control Pannel Software Installed)

First problem is I cannot seem to find the correct resolution for the TV. Every resolution I try is either too small or chops bits off. I have looking in the manual and on the net but cannot find anything about the correct resolution to use.

Second, is it possible to have audio coming from both the pc speakers and tv at the same time? The PC speakers are though computers sound card and TV audio is though HDMI. I can only seem to select one or the other.

Lastly, is it possible to have another task bar on the second (extended) screen?

OK I have installed that which has allowed me to have the taskbar accross both desktops but still can't find a resolution which is the right size they are either too big or too small.

Also still can't seem to enable PC Speakers and HDMI Audio at the same time.
 
Just pressed the info button on the TV and that is the size of my TV panel so that would be perfect.

The problem is I have looked in UltraMon and the Windows display settings but can only have 1280x720 or 1440x480. I have even been to List all modes but its not there.

Is there any way to force this resolution?
 
When I had that problem I installed the driver from the manufacturers website and it became an available option! Worst case there must be somewhere to manually type in the res (registry?).

I take it you mean a driver for the TV? If so I think you maybe right as its coming up in the device manager as "Generic PnP Monitor".

The problem I have is I don't have any drivers for the TV and when searching for BUSH LCD32TV24HD in google I don't get anything useful. Any ideas?
 
download the lastest driver for your GPU. uninstall the old one and install the new one but make sure your TV is connected at the time
 
I have just been doing some light Googling and it appears resolution problems are a known issue with nVidia drivers and LCD TVs when connecting via HDMI. What happens if you try VGA [if your TV supports it]?

I could be way off as the latest info I found was from a year or so ago.
 
I used to have VGA but upgraded to HDMI for the better quality and also the Sound running through the same cable.

Ah well guess I will have to put up with a slightly lower resolution.
 
Does you TV have more than one HDMI port? If so then thats the problem! On all (720p) TVs, only one of the hdmi ports works at the native res if you connect it to a gfx card.

Try different hdmi slots, restarting your computer between each one. I too had that same problem
 
the nVidia graphics control panel has a section that allows you to set a custom resolution!

Just tried that and the screens filcker and then a message pops up saying something like "Not Supported by Device" not sure why :(

I guess I will have to put up with black borders around my video lol.
 
Is there not a picture adjust function on your TV? I had similar issues with NVIDIA+HDMI but it was easily fixed by running the auto adjust feature, strangely it did sometimes say "over range" even though it was displaying the picture fine and none of the settings in the control panel were "over range".

Also I wouldn't recommend ultramon it's a horrible piece of software imo.

This is the strange thing, when running through VGA you have the option to adjust but when using HDMI the TV won't give you any options.
