Is there anything else I can do right now to improve? I'll be getting the cooler and probably a new rear fan and maybe some LED strips next week so won't consider overclocking until then obviously ^_^

The i5-K will run hotter when overclocked and on load. The Pentium-K has lower TDP.
Not that it should be an issue for a decent O/C. If it's a good chip.
While I'm here, I've only just found out that the Bitfenix Alchemy cables are extensions rather than replacements. Is it safe to use them, as in, does it affect the flow of power to the component? Just a thought since it has to pass through an extra stretch of cable
It's semi modular (even though the page said modular, though I suppose it never said 'fully' either) so I can get orange braided cables for the ones that go into the gpu and the one that goes into the motherboard since they're really all that can be seen
Yup, I'll get the cooler at the same time, the copper piping will match the copper in the 290 TRI-X so that's okay. Along with the cables, a 120mm NZXT fan for the rear and some LED strips because the left hand side is in darkness lol
