I am after someone to really hold my hand on this because I am very new to building PC's & am still trying to understand how to optimize my pc for best performance.

I have just downloaded Si-Sandra which people on this site recommend & run it for the first time but don't really now where to start.

My main concern at the moment is to see if my RAM is running at it's most optimal performance.

Can someone please explain in easy steps on how I would go about this in the si-sandra benchmarking program?

Thanks for your help.

pretty easy program, double click each app and then there should be a blue button which looks like the page refresh button click it and the benchmark will being it will compare you results againast other componenets e.g if you have a E6600 you can compare it with a FX-62/E6700/Q6600 etc.

Ok thanks.

Which test is best for checking RAM performance?

Use the memory bandwidth & memory latency on SIS Sandra.

Or if you have the time, run memtest for a few hours to really see if the memory is up to what its set to.

You can find it here

This application will stress your memory to see if its capable of ruinning at the overclocked speeds or even the stock speeds. You can either boot it from floppy, USB pen drive or CD.
