help updating n95 firmware

Updated the software to the 11 one first.
Downloaded Nemesis and changed the product code to 0534841 (Assumed i didn't need to write the EURO 1 bit?)
Closed Nemesis down again and tried to use the Noka software thing and it tries to open and then fails...i also can't see what version my phone currently has - unless there is another way besides #0000#?

Oops, you need to use *#0000# (not just #0000#)

Oh okay.

And panic over...i re-installed Nokia Software and it discovered the v12 thingy..installing now.

Now i need to sort out the extra updates for my GPS...i'm lucky i think as it works fine - it detected where i was etc.

Thankyou for helping me and i'll pester you shortly.

Yep on my N70 i lost the theme i was using - though as you, it was saved with my backup - but there's nothing saved for it, so if i switch themes i loose it totaly unless i back up again.

I also lost the tone i use for my alarm - however i am able to change my alarm tone to whatever i want.

Themes and tones must have been specific to the branded firmware (vodafone in my case)

Ok - just updated my software - got rid of all the T-mob crap which is good

Had a bit of a sweat on when the phone got caught in a startup loop but i done a hard reset and off it went

Can you confirm that the procedure is the same for the N95 8GB then? (i.e. using Nemesis to change the product code, using Nokia Software Update to update). Surely there won't be any updates for the phone yet as it's just been released?

Will this debrand a UK Vodafone N95 8GB?

The Nemesis part certainly still works as it should.

As my phone was unbranded anyway, I can't comment on the NSU part of the procedure as I'm not even sure if the N95 8GB is on the Software Updater app yet?

Can confirm that Nemesis does work, the procedure in this thread post showed my product code to be 0557135.

I got too scared to actually change it though, especially as the Nokia site doesn't mention any update available for 0549487 (Euro 1) so I wouldn't know whether Nokia Software Updater would actually let me flash it.

Anyone else wanna try it?

Would be nice to get VoIP back on the phone and remove the Voda startup, etc - though I guess you'd void the warranty on it but it would be trivial to reset the code.
