Help updating Xperia Home Launcher

Hi Guys

I discovered there's a new Sony Xperia home launcher which I read about here. I downloaded it, however upon trying to install I get the message 'Application not installed - An existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed'.

So I suspect I need to uninstall the existing version of the Xperia launcher first, however it's a system file so not possible. The guide which I have linked above does not mention needing to be rooted or having to uninstall the existing Xperia launcher so where am I going wrong?

I have looked at various launchers on the Play store but couldn't really get the hang of them and then came across this update so thought I would give it a go. Oh im not able to root my phone btw as Sony locked the boot loader with a software update a while back. That was nice of them :mad:

It's a Sony Miro running ICS by the way.

Oops schoolboy error :D It's a Sony Miro running ICS. Not the best example of a Smart phone but I tend to loose phones eventually so didn't want to plough too much $ into one.
 
Hmm, have you tried turning Developers options on in the settings !! it could also be an issue with framework being most of the quoted phones a bigger screens.
 
Had a quick look in the developer options there but not quite sure what to turn on as there are a number of different options :D Im still learning about Android tbh which is why I like tinkering :)
