My mum wants to upgrade her pc for vista. It's a fujitsu Siemens scaleo 600 3.2 P4 with 1gb ram. I assume that for vista to run comfortably it should have 2gb ram but what ram should I get? Heres the mainboard specs from SISoft 2007 :-

I'm assuming it's DDR and not DDR2 looking at that. So, i'd recommend this 2gb kit: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-046-GL

Should do the trick. I use it and i game a lot and FPS is just so high in all games. But, in Vista, it performs excellently.

There's already 1gb of ram in the system so adding another 2gb would take it 3gb which would be overkill wouldn't it? Remember it's my mum's pc and she's not exactly a power user.

What i'm suggesting is use just the new 2GB kit, and then either sell the original gig, or keep it for use in another PC.
