Is there a way I can use this template to redo my old site.

I've already made a freehostia account, edited the template a bit and uploaded it here, but I want to be able to have comments and an easy way to add posts. Kinda like a blog frontpage, but then clicking the Guitar Tabs link for example, would take you to a page like this, still inkeeping with the style though.

I've tried using it with Blogger.com but it only seems to work with xhtml.

I don't really have any idea what I'm doing...

To do what you want e.g. the comments your either gonig to need to learn how to make a comments system using flat file, though i tihink this wont work with free hosting, or get paid for hosting, which tbh is very cheap. Vidahost

For a comments system you need somewhere to store the comments which is usually done in MySQL so you'd need to learn this or just copy and paste someone elses code though still some Mysql experience can be needed.

try here and search the word comments.

in my opinion your trying to do stuff way above your knowldge. read some tutorials first about html and css and then build it yourself. That desgin isn't too hard.

If your really set on a design like that and after you have tried some more i don't mind designing a site for you for free.

Freehostia gives me 10 MySQL databases, but if it's going to take that much work I won't bother with it.

I know it might seem stingy, but I don't want to spend any money on it. It's not for anything serious site, just a small fan site for a band I like.

I'm not really set on that design in particular, but I do like the whole CSS/Web2.0 style.

I just though it'd be easier if I used a template and altered it to suit my needs, as like I said, it's nothing serious, I just want something simple that looks nice.

Use cutenews, its much simpler and uses flat files to store news items/comments. Anyone can configure that tbh :) For a small site like yours, MySQL wouls probs be too much effort.
