Hi guys.. Last system I built was 4 or 5 years ago so im kinda out of the loop.. so I thought I would ask you expert overclockers for help ;)
I have already decided on and bought a Phanteks Enthoo Primo Full Tower - pre Watercooled 750 EX360 Case... with intel bracket.
Also I have decided on the Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) CPU after a little research... but not purchased yet because im looking at the motherboards and ram... or a bundle with the cpu included ? ...but cannot make my mind up and I end up just going around in circles.
What I would like in the end is a solid , reliable gaming machine without all the really complex configurable features of some oc boards as Im not a tweaker with bios features usually ... but if its relatively easy to overclock for a nooby overclocker then i might have a go later .The budget is around + - £700 for the mobo ram + cpu . Thanks ..

Decent mobo, I've used a lot of different manufactures in builds. I don't use MSI now, Asrock is a no no, Asus are good but usually cost more than Gigabyte.

I do prefer the Asus bios though but you can't really go wrong with that Gigabyte mobo RJC linked.

I've always been an ASUS user until now, but went for the Z97X-UD3H-BK due to the upgrade offer RJC mentioned.

Although I'd say I prefer the ASUS UEFI implementation, there's nothing wrong with Gigabyte's and I am happy with the board so far - but have only had it a few days.

Hi again..
I have checked out a few boards pretty thoroughly on review sites and checked on peepz systems here on Overclockers ...also looking closely at reccomendations here and finally I went for ..

OcUK Tech Labs - Phanteks Enthoo Primo Full Tower - 750 EX360 Watercooled Case

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor

Corsair Vengeance Pro Red 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C11 2400MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit

Asus Maximus VII Hero Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 1000W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply

....although the memory is not in stock yet but these items are already purchased ... I know I said I wasn't really into overclocking but after a few days reading the threads here I thought well why not have a dabble a little later if I decide to as I find it fascinating....so do you think I will have any probs with this set up?....
I was thinking gtx 980 and two ssd drives ( a 250 for windows and a 500 for storage ) ... when the missus isn't looking :D
