Help: why can I not focus?

Thanks guys, the only reason I've used 100% crops is that seems to be the way others display their macro shots.

A lot of people on here use Macro lenses on D-SLR's which are true 1:1 life size. These take proper Macro photos and will appear to be 100% crops but they are not.

For example : The image on the left is as close as you would be able to get. A macro lens was used for the others.

You must also bear in mind that when in macro the autofocus beam is not looking at the same spot as the viewfinder[Peephole or SLR]
