hi guys, i hope you all can help me find the right tool for me.
so far i have been looking at so many screen that i have big headache :(
let me tell you which of the ones i found i liked and what makes me stop buying them straight away.

TN panel screen:
ASUS VK266H 26"
i liked this screen because it has so many options, it has a nice screen resolution, a webcam, could connect additional units over hdmi, could connect the wii over component.
what i didnt like: its a TN panel.
and its hard to tell otherwise i have not seen the screen in real life. but ppl on the internet say great resolution and picture quality other say it crap dont buy it. so its hard to tell.

my other options are
NEC MultiSync 24WMGX3 however i dont know anything about this except that it is a bit more expensive then i would have paid with the asus. however its not a TN panel so a positive thing.

other option is:
HP LP2475w
but what stoped me here is the price. and i am also not sure if it is good for gaming. however the cheapest i could get it for is 388.86 pounds with shipping

last option:
BenQ FP241WZ
it is a MVA panel and better then a tn panel however the HP is a IPS panel so a lot better according to my reading and i could get the HP cheaper then the BENQ.

Now let me explain what i will be using it for.
I am a web-designer, and now also going into Picture editing (hobby only) i also do a lot of video editing on a mac.
my main use will be as a second or main screen for my MacBook Pro Laptop until i buy a Mac Desktop. However i also have a PC Desktop (my gaming baby) and i would like to use it on the pc aswell for gaming while my mac renders or what ever.
so here i get into trouble i need one which is good for graphics and shows me nice colors. i hardly print out the photos i edit everything is staying digital, only the videos are getting to DVD or BluRay disc.
but my main distribution is WEB. which means a proper TN screen would be more then enough for color since i am not going into print.
i am in between i really dont know which way to go.
now i saw this option on overclockers
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-028-NE
which would be a in between i think but still 20 pounds more expensive then the HP. so all that is under 388 and good for graphics and gaming please let me know!!! :)
thanks for your help
Mike

I've had both the BenQ FP241W and the HP2475w in my time, and in the end decided to stick with the former. Most H-IPS HP screens in circulation suffer from green and pink tints, which subtly warp the colours (particularly whites and greys) to varying degrees with each unit. It's well documented in the official thread, although it's worth noting that some people don't have any problems at all (either through good fortune or ignorant bliss).

The BenQ, on the other hand, elicits very slightly worse G2G response times (creating a blur effect when moving in FPS's), but in my experience showed less signs of reverse ghosting. The monitor also has near-optimal colour accuracy out of the box, while to get the most out of the HP you'll need to pick up a professional colorometer, such as the Lacie Blue Eye 2. A calibrated HP2475w panel has been known to trump just about everything within it's price range, in terms of black levels and colour fidelity - but obviously you'll need to factor an extra £100 or so into the price.

I'll stick a vote in for the cheaper Benq, although if you also have the money for the Blue Eye 2, I'd go with the HP.

have a read on tftcentral, I went for the HP, afaik the tinting cataferak is referring to was only on earlier revision and newer screens should be ok, mine is :D
