Getting 4GB ram to work on overclocked Q6600

Hi again.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. This is about memory but is to do with my OC, so am posting here.

When I first got hold of my computer, the frist thing I did was over clock it. The P5NE-SLI is not a very good motherboard for this sort of thing.

I only had 2GB ram then and was not a problem. I now have 4GB ram but have been running on stock speed with some adjustment in memory volts. That was with some help from the manufacture.

Problems is, I can't boot with 4GB ram and use my overclock settings at the same time. I have put up the volts but still no boot. I am worried I may burn out my motherboard.

So could I have some help with what volts and what I need to adjust?

And overclock volts.

This is when I had my OC going and with only 2GB ram

This is my current settings.
5-5-5-18-22 2T.
memory voltage 2.353.
Memory is corsair CM2X1024 6400.
4x1GB Two pair sets.

If You need more information, I will do my best to get hold of it.
Thanks :)

Anyone? Does anyone have the same motherboard as me?

I do understand it's a bit rubbish now. ;)

BTW my working overclock is 3Ghz. Not bad but good enough for me. :)

And here is proof of my 3Ghz that passed prime95 years ago. ;)

Back tomorrow.

Have you tried upping the NB voltage a couple of notches, running 4 x 1gb sticks of ram puts the NB under a bit more strain, therefore you need to up the voltage to compensate this.

Thank you for the reply.

Not much luck.

I tried upping the NB to 1.748 but no luck. Plus I found out that, the NB won't go no higher than 1.748 then it's back to auto.

So I tried with the NB on auto but it won't load windows.

Memory volts was left at 2.353.

Think I now have 4GB working with my OC. I can't say if it's stable or am I sure I need to run prime95 again but it's working.

Hope I won't fry my motherboard?

Only put up memory volts to 2.517 and NB on auto.

See picture here for settings and cpuz. :)

I don't recommend the P5NE-SLI for overclocking at all. :)

I had exactly the same problem with this board but i am using my E6600 with this board @ 3.1ghz. NO matter what i do after that i cannot get it stable, even tho i have low temps.

I am pretty sure it is the board but it's going to be a 2nd pc come jan/feb anyway so I am not so bothered now :)
