help with 5.1 home theater

Hi,
Got some speakers and a subwoofer. the subwoofer has 6 inputs front left right back lefr right sub and centre. Now looking at the back of my tv and sky box on either of them i can only find a left and right output, what else do i need to buy to get it to work?
IS there anyway of connecting it up at the moment to bodge it ?

You can only get 2 channels out of a TV or sky box. They only give you content in stereo.

5.1 surround will come from a dvd player or similar.

Edit: so you can probably plug the stereo sound from the sky box into the 5.1 system. If you want to use all the speakers, set it to something like "dolby pro logic" on the system, which will seperate the stereo sound into more channels.
