Hi i seemed to be haveing problems with my bios on my Gigabyte 7970 stock 1000/1375, i use to be able to run at 1150/1650 stock voltage, the voltage is unlocked as its a rev1.
Well it wouldn't let me flash the same version bios just to see if that helps using Gigabyte own utility.
Anyway i came across the Auttomatic GHZ upgrade bios tried that and it works 1050/1500 but it displays no voltage.
So i thought i would try the original bios from gigabyte again with Atiwinflash but i get that common subsystem id mismatch.
Some people say i can use ATIFLASH but im not sure how to use that could someone explain i did read about it ages ago and forgot, something to do with makeing a bootable USB.
Thanks

You need to put Atiwinflash and the bios you want to flash on a bootable USB. Then you boot into dos using the USB and type 'atiwinflash -f -p 0 [bios name, eg. newbios.rom]'.

Well i seem to have worked it out i flashed my bios with the exact one from the gigabyte site using Atiflash on a usb, at first it wouldnt work that also came up with a mismatch.
so googled and the ods command -f worked instead of -fs as said in the tutorial to force it.
Is it write that you can only flash 1 bios?
because for some unknown reason i had problems with both bios not keeping my clocks so i nee to flash them both realy, also i heard if you move the bios switch while the card is on that copies the bios over?
Thanks

You typed that just as i was typing i dont know why in the turtorial it said -fs and it doesnt have to be a bin or rom my file ends .f2 and worked
This is where i got my bios from the exact same model and revision
http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4102#bios
mine is the bottom bios, as you can see there are newer ones are they for newer cards like different revisions as i can't see and documents saying what the different bios do,change etc?
Thanks

No, just flipping the switch won't copy the BIOS from postion to the other.

I am pretty sure you can re-flash the write protected BIOS if you unlock it first.

Make sure the switch is in the posistion of the BIOS you want to flash. From your bootdisk type:

atflash -unlockrom 0

Then flash your BIOS as usual. When done:

atiflash -lockrom 0

To relock it.
