help with 8800 gts oc 320

when i go into nvidia control panel, i look at the clock settings.
core clock =550 which is normal
memory = 800. <though shouldn't it read 1600?

or is this because it is like ddr2? i.e. 2x800 = 1600?

Its because its DDR (Double data rate) so 800=1600

Its all the same for DDR1/DDR2/DDR3 all are XXX x 2 = your ram clock
