I am looking for a spec around 700 squid. I Dont need an OS or keyboard + mouse or screen

The main use is to play WoW however i want an apt pc to allow me to play other games....Although i was an nvida fan boy (:D) i quite like the look of the new 6870s

However im undecided if i should go more for a hex core...or just go quad and spend more on the graphics card

ideallly i would like to fit a 6870 + i5/955 in budget with a good mobo but i always seem to add more then required

Upgrading from a 2.2ghz dual core 1gb ram vista pc im sure i will see an improvement:cool:

Can't really beat an i5 for gaming. A hex core is overkill.

That spec above is pretty sound. I went from a 1.7 ghz laptop to my current spec ( even at stock) and I won't even touch my working laptop anymore it annoys me with its load times.

You could downgrade the case to save some bucks if needed

Do what I do- install Ubuntu on your laptop so it works as a portable internet browser / office machine. You won't play games on it anyway, and load times are a hundred times faster in Ubuntu than in Windows.

Alright thanks guys i will mull over it for abit before i buy!

Honestly, Jony's reply was the perfect build :). Switch to a 460 1GB if you still fancy nVidia, and you can downgrade the PSU and get rid of the cooler if you want to save money and you're not overclocking, but really I'd just order what he listed there.

Still though, always good to think about what you're buying.

Cheers never really considered it. (Sorry for hijack)
