Help with a meal for 7 people

That's the spirit:D

I love French food, people tend to think it's complicated but if you find more rustic recipes (think Normandy/Brittany regions, I've spent a lot of holidays there!) they are generally really simple, tasty, hearty meals:)

To mention the lovely South and its cuisine, you could go for a Cassoulet. Easy to prepare in advance, and yum - duck, pork, sausages, beans, all stewed up, delicious.

Best mild curry:

2 Tins of coconut milk
4 Tomatoes (peeled)
1 Tin of chick peas
4 Onions
2 tps tumeric
3 tps curry powder
1 tps paprika

Fry diced onions on medium heat
Add spices and mix
Add coconut milk
Add diced tomatoes (when skinning them place them in hot water for about 5 mins before to loosen the skin.
Add chick peas

Leave it on a low heat for anything from 20mins - 6 hours.
Easiest and best curry ever.
Add naan etc

Starter - Aparagus soup to start, it's in season and if you pick your own not expensive.

Main - Roast leg of lamb for main with dauphinois potatoes. Spring lamb is not in yet so they're trying to get rid of the old lamb before they whack the prices up. I've noticed lamb in the butchers has dropped a few pound a kilo.

Dessert - you might be able to get early fresh strawberries if you're in the south so Eton mess using strawbs. Failing that serve them tossed in a little balsamic vinegar by themselves.
