Hi I currently have a cheap casecom case. I dont like it becuase its loud its not well built ... its awful. I am looking for a new case for around £60 give or take. I am looking for a standard ATX size but will fit a ATi 4870. Any Suggestions?

Antec 300.

I dont understand why anyone would choose the antec over the lian li, the build quality, looks and case design are way better.

Lian li PC-A05B

for the win.

Its a no brainer really, its all aluminium construction with great build quality. superior looks and plenty of space for full ATX mobo. you cant beat it really and even from OcUk its only £9 over budget. I have always failed to see the atraction of the Gamer cases from antec. at a severly reduced price the antecs are great but £50 for the 300 is allmost as obsered as the £143 tag on the 1200. Buy the lian li if you like nice understated clean looks with quality materials. Buy the antec if you are the type of person to put a wide arch body kit on your 1.1 vauxhall corsa.

Before i do buy one and i proberbly should on said this at the start, I will be overclocking so whats the cooling like on the Lian Li and the Antec. The Lian Li does look much better but the Antec seems to have more fans?

but louder, check out the a05 thread on here and on [H]ardforum, just replace the fans with some more decent ones and away you go, or if feeling adventurous then do some case modding, more importantly, real question you need to ask is WHY the antec needs so many fans...

Yea its about creating a flow of air through ur case so that air inside the case is replaced with fresh air and doesn't have dead spots (e.g. below ur gpu is a deadspot if u use a wb or silent heatsink). As the point is that ur heatsinks and can only pump heat into an area which has a lower temp (e.g. the air around the gpu). If this area doesn't have the air replaced the gpu heatsink will become less and less effective as the heat builds up until it cannot transport heat to the air around the gpu. Thought i'd give a more scientific reason for why the lian li is better. Also aluminium is amazing at conducting heat so ur whole case becomes one big heatsink.

So the Lian Li has a better air flow compared to the Antec keeping it cooler?
