Hi, i'm looking for a wedding ring for myself, i popped into a jewellers today and saw a style i liked but the ring i looked at, the jeweller does not deal with the manufacturer any more, plus it had yellow gold on it which i don't like.

I'm looking for a ring in the same style though and don't mind whether it's Palladium, 9/18ct gold or platinum. It's a strange one as when you move it in the light it has a kind of holographic effect.

Anyway, here's a pic of the ring i tried, if anyone knows what the effectis called that would be helpful too.

She likes the Le Vian chocolate range.

Well neither of you have any taste, perfect couple :p

On a serious note, is that a mans ring? seems rather tiny, or you have giant hands.

I'll ask a friend who works in the industry, see if he knows although I'd ask the shop who the manufacturer was :)

Just go to a proper jeweler (one with their own workshop) and ask them to make you one.

We got all our rings made by Clarksons here in Edinburgh and the price is not significantly different to buying something off the shelf - well worth it for a piece that will be unique to you.

(On a side note: LeVian - market poor colour diamonds as "chocolate" - marketing genius!)

We got our engagement ring at Blue Nile. Chose the diamond and the ring - although a bit industrial in their approach the final product is really good.

For the wedding bands we went with a local jeweller in Ascot near to where we lived at the time. The benefit of a local place is that you can try them on before the final designs are finalised for any changes in sizes. Also the wife needed a band of a specific size to fit the ring and it made it easier to work with them.

id get it a mm or two wider.

I'm going for 6 mm. That example was tiny. And as for the Le vian ring, it's what she wants. Who am I to argue. Nearly 2k for a wedding ring isn't exactly cheap. But then, I forgot, most of you are posh bankers living in the city earning 6 figure salaries. Honesty, some people need to get off their high horses. I'd rather spend the money making our special day perfect, marrying my soul mate on the shores of her home town in New Zealand because I'm a cheapskate like that ;)

Sod spending that much on a ring!

Paid £800 for the missus and £80 for mine!!

Think my wedding ring was £30. Tungsten Carbide

Mrs Cheesyboy's ring was somewhat more costly. I was, let's say, disappointed to find I'd made my own bed on that one a bit by buying a platinum engagement ring - meant I was committed to buying a platinum wedding ring to match, to avoid one wearing away the metal from the other (apparently).

Hmm. Ignoring the engagement ring, my band cost more than her band from the same place. Note that it will platinum will tarnish over time so you'll loose that crazy shine.. mine has scrapes out of it thanks to a concrete mixer!

A simple white gold / platinum band for a fella. Anything more is gay lord territory. ESPECIALLY gold with a diamond.

Of course that is just my humble opinion. :D

Her rings were expensive... I bought mine off amazon for like 150quid. That way, when I lose it, I can get another without her noticing and not be shafted for it :p
