Help with an Omega watch

I just bought my Dad an Omega watch for his birthday thats coming up soon. Its an classic silver Omega Seamaster Automatic.

Now I know nothing about watches and today when I recieved it the thing wasnt ticking, after much messing about its now ticking but I cant figure out how to change the time nor the day. The date chnages by pulling the stock out and rolling it but thats all.

And why wasnt it ticking when i first got it seems wird to me. I am going to take it to a jewlerrs and have it checked out at the weekend but thought I would see if there was any Omega bods on here first.

well if tis an automatic, if its left for a couple of days it will wind down
for the date and time you shopuld pull the winder out so far to adjust for the date, then out further to adjust for time, i think

Put it on, goto fave pr0n site, knock one off. It'll tick well into 2007.

pull the winder out one click more than the position where the date adjusts

Well sticking it on my wrist and having a look at it made it work :confused:

its an automatic thats what they do

You should be able to wind up an auto manually, if its a seamaster you might have a screw down crown
