Hi all. Im looking into buying a new PSU to power the 9800gt my girlfriend has bought me for xmas and i have eyed the Corsair HX520W. Just want to know if anyone has had experience with these PSU's and also if it will work on my machine. I have 1xHitachi HDT7250 hdd and 1xPhillips 2514 CDRW. Both are Sata. My mobo is an MSI G33m - http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1184 running Intel Quad 2 Q6600 ~ @ 2.40Ghz. The PSU im upgrading from is http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140287384414&cguid=28c3fe5611e0a0e2031259e2ff937473. Before anyone flames the poor PSU i did buy the PC as a complete from PC World and my plan was to upgrade it as and when i needed to. Anyway any help regarding this would be greatly appreciated. :p

You need to edit out the competitor in your post.

The Corsair HX520W will be fine and it is a good PSU.

Been too many Corsairs failing lately for my liking so i for one will not recommend them any more.

The OCZ Modstream Pro 600w at the same price is a good alternative. They have been getting some good reviews. Alternatively shop around a to find one of the excellent Enermax Modu 82+ 525w at around £59.
