Help with beeping laptop please

I've been fixing a faulty laptop(Siemens/Fujitsu Amilo D7830) for my mate,turns out the charger was borked. Managed to buy another charger for it.

Been fidling with it today & got it back up & running,battery fully charged according to power management in the control panel.Now i have a problem with it beeping(short single beep over & over) when its running on the battery Sounds like its coming from the system speaker. No beeping when its plugged in via the charger,only when the charger is unplugged from the mains

Do you think the battery could be on its way out as well ?

Getting no on screen error messages,checked device manager as well,all seems to be ok

Any ideas folks,any help would be appreciated

Sounds like the battery is on the way out - is there a battery power indicator in the system tray, and how old is the laptop?

I'm pretty sure it's the battery,not holding a charge at all Looks like it needs a new one
