Hi all,

Motherboard is Gigabyte Z170 K3.

On a cold boot this evening I had a boot failure. It has happened before, and is probably because at the weekend I had been playing about with adjusting some of the BIOS voltages to optimise my overclocking.

When it has happened previously I have just gone into the BIOS and re-loaded my saved profile, tweaked the voltages back up a touch and away I go.

However on this boot failure today all my saved profiles are gone. I have a record of the settings so I can reinstate it all - but it concerns me that this has happened.

The BIOS is supposed to be a dual BIOS. I am not sure what this means as the manual doesn't give any indication. There doesn't appear to be any switch on the motherboard itself. Could my BIOS have switched over to another chip on its own thus losing my saved profiles?

This is very odd. I configured my settings back into the BIOS and rebooted. I had another boot failure, and then went back into BIOS again. My saved profiles are now back. I upped the voltage a tad more and rebooted and it worked this time.

Yeah it just switched to your second bios when the first one failed to post. Thats why you couldnt see the profiles.
