Help with choosing a PC.

Thanks for the reply, the system looks decent. The only thing is that I prefer nvidia over ATI (as there are problems with the older games I play and ATI cards), so which nvidia card would be best to take? I assume the GT430? Thanks for the reply!

That depends entirely on your budget. I also prefer Nvidia and went for the GTX 570 (almost went for the ATI 6950 though) in this system, plus an M4 64GB SSD. It really depends on your needs and budget, the truth is if you have a decent processor and fairly recent card, you'll be able to run all games very well. Don't forget this is a geeks' forum so there will always be something better. Until next year when the new video cards come out anything you spend over a grand on a rig is likely to be overkill unless you are an FPS freak or have an insane monitor resolution. The decision you have to make is how much am I willing to invest in a gaming rig and for that the above system is very good price/quality in my opinion, but again, you're the one who has to decide on a budget and on your real needs. You could go for a cheap Nvidia card and upgrade later on once the new cards arrive and buy a second hand 570 or 580.

I was thinking about that. The price of the original system with the 430 card is nice, but adding the better 570 card takes it a bit high. I think I would upgrade once some newer stuff comes out, but yeah, thanks a lot for the help appreciate it.

Remember contrary to expectations Battlefield 3 runs pretty well on older systems and the older games you seems to be willing to play (good idea actually, I do that as well) will run just fine, even on a 430 (but I stand to be corrected, not an expert myself). Call of Duty is still using a dated engine so no problems there either (I just uninstalled MW3 because it just looks ugly on PC imo...). Don't skimp on a decent monitor though.
Good luck with whatever you do.

I thought the budget was £600 to include the monitor, the titan supersaurus is ~£800(more as you have to up the graphics card if you want to play bf3 etc) without a monitor.

Check his later post:

I've spoken to my dad and he says if I'm going to buy a new PC, I may aswell be buying something that I can easily upgrade or/and will last me for a while. Therefore I've figured if I'm going to be using the pay over 36 months plan, that what I'm going to be paying isn't going to be too much of an issue.
