Right built the rig, running okay but finding the bios setup a little awkward to say the least. I know exactly what to do with an AMD rig but struggling to get my head round this......

System spec is:

E6600
Gigabyte DS4
Geil PC6400 Ultra Cas4

I've done a small overclock to 2.7ghz:

but it's still showing my ram as PC5300 and not PC6400, also I can't find an option within the bios to change the ram latencies which should be 4-4-4-12

i cant help with overclocking , but to change latencies Ctrl & F1 on the main bios screen and they should show up.

I have a ds4 with celeron 326. I have found that you set your fsb, vots, etc so that it can just load into windows and then use the gigabyte easy tune to take it further. Got the celeron from 2.53 to 4.10, but will be aiming for 5ghz if i can figure out which piece of the puzzle becomes unstable at 4.10+. Kesnel has his 326 at 5.03ghz. Must find out how. Will not sleep. Must find out how !!!!!!

Hey Monstermunch,

The RAM timings problem in CPU-Z is purely a problem with CPU-Z and the RAM (I have exactly the same components as you) and won't affect your setup at all.
I suggest you download the latest DS4 BIOS (F5C) as that allows for far greater overclocking of an E6600 (took my stable OC from 340 --> 430).
Other than that ensure that the PCI-E bus is locked, there are sufficient (+.3/4) volts going through the RAM and the RAM is set to a 1:1 divider and you should have no problems! Good luck.
EDIT : For an option within the BIOS to change RAM timings press CTRL+F1 on the BIOS main screen, opens up advanced options in the BIOS.

My ram allways shows as 5300 no matter what bios i use so ignore that .....diasble c1e + eise + usb legasy and set it at 360 everything auto and it should boot....anthing higher needs voltage adjustments.
