My system would do short startup/ shutdown loop after the computer went into sleep state. The only rectify this was to unplug the PSU cable and clear the CMOS.

It did the same last night and now is just switching on and off if short the power jumpers. Tried different CPUs,ram sticks, graphics cards,HDDs and ssds. Even removed everything from the case and powered the CPU cooler direct from the PSU.

Tried different batteries, clearing CMOS manually or even keeping the mb for an hour with battery disconnected from power. Nothing changes.

I assume that means the mb is fubared then? :(

System specs:
Xeon e3 1230 v2
16gb ddr3
120gb ssd
2tb HDD
Gigabyte h67n itx mb
Corsair h40
Gtx660
Xfx pro 450w PSU

Other hw used for test:

Fsp flexatx 500w PSU(one in high end shuttles)
Hx520w
Corsair vengeance and amd gamer ram kits
Hd6870

BIOS update.

Try flashing the backup BIOS to the same as the main (google how to do this, have to press some key combination I think)

try pressing front case button and soon as fans spin/mb lights light up switch off as fast as poss at the rear psu switch

do that two or three times then let the pc powerup normally

it could be a corrupted main bios

sleep resume problems are usually ram setting/voltage related or bios bug

Thanks again. Will try that. ATM it appears socket 1155 mmini-ITX MBS are not easy to get. Only one site who uses crap del companies does meaning it might until Monday I don't have a computer. Not happy at all.

I ended up ordering an ASRock B75M-ITX as a replacement. The Gigabyte equivalent sadly lacked E-SATA which I need and I could not find any new H77 or Z77 based mini-ITX motherboards for under £100!! :(
