Help with CPU and Core Speed

It should try a boot up and moan that its recovered from a bad overclock and asks you to enter the BIOS, it may then bring up another Red box and have a moan again and it will try and go back to the last good settings.

I will keep it off a bit longer.

Now i know why people say "small increases":D

What happens if it cant boot back in?

Have to wip the Battery out and then leave it for a minute.

You did switch the power off as soon as it tried to start up? not when it turned off?

What Vcore and LLC did you set?

Yeah did as you said matey.

The Vcore was +0.06 and the LLC i did not touch.

I will give a few more goes and then do as you say. I will then keep it at the stable clock i had before.

Ok, i reckon its a MOBO reset. Is that what you mean battery out etc?

If so, will do this tomorrow. Time for bed.

Thanks Stu, your help as always is much appreciated.

Thats what I mean, there is a pair of pins somewhere on that board to do the same thing (short together briefly), but they vary between models and could be anywhere.

Woooohoo. Had to take battery out.
Back at 4.6, 1.344, Prime 95 for 4 hours. Cheers Stu

Did you save the working OC settings as a profile? its useful as it saves adjusting everything again like the SATA controller from IDE to AHCI etc and it gives you something to work from.

I didnt mate no, will do for this one.

What is that adjustment you mention above? SATA from IDE to AHCI????

Thats if you are using a SSD mainly, you will have to do a re-install if you try and adjust it in between, usually the PC wont boot up when altered from what it was set to.

4.6GHz at 1.325 crashed after 2 hours in Prime95.

Lowered to 4.5GHz, same voltage and run Prime95 again.
