Hi guys, im having some problems getting Eclipse to run, could someone help me out?

I did a fresh install of Windows 7
Download/Installed Java

Then i download Eclipse, extract and run, and it pops up the following error:

errordh.png

Ive had a quick search on google and tried some suggestions but nothing has worked so far.

I tried re-downloading and also editing the PATH location, but no such look :(

Tried moving it out of the C:\Users folder? I sometimes get weird permission errors running apps behind that folder. Stick it in C:\ and see if it runs. I have the same setup sat in the C:\ and it loads fine.

Ahh cool I had issues with classic also when I tried that but it was different to the error you had. You using it to develop for android by any chance?

For Android yeah.

I had Classic installed before i formated, seems strange it would give errors on a fresh install

Ive been looking at developing for it too hence installing eclipse but im finding it easier to do it in flash as i already have a flash background and adobe just released the packager to make flash apps convert to android apps.

Nice... :)

I don't think ive ever made anything in flash, lol.

Im just starting out with Android apps, and i think it's going to take me along time. And the thing i would like to do im not sure if it will be worth while making, but ATM im just using it to learn.

It's simply going to be an APP store simular to Apple's. With a screening process to stop any old rubbish getting in like on the market :p

What Adobe have done is pretty good. You can publish for android in the same way that you would create a normal Flash file and if you have your phone plugged in when you publish, the app automatically gets sent to the phone and appears on your home screen straight away in real time for you to test and play with.

Performance is excellent and there have already been a few games ported by those that were on the private beta before it went public at google io. Take a look at some of the videos at http://theflashblog.com/?p=1926 One developer reckons it took less than 10 mins to port the game to android using the new tools adobe have developed.
