Hi

could some one please tell me how i can adjust the exposure compensation on my D50 when you are in manual mode as i can't suss it out.

Thanks

On my d70 you hold down the exposure compensation button and then twiddle the shutterspeed/aperture dial.

Failing that, RTM :)

thats how it works for most modes but in manual that button is used for the apeture ! I had a quick look but couldn't see, not got my manual handy either :(

that is correct for the D50 which is why i can't find out how to change it

well my manual re surfaced as I was looking for a map elsewhere. Exposure compensation is only availible in P, S, and A modes not full manual. It's a bit dissapointing tbh but I guess if you want to go up and down you set your shutter speed accordingly! (or put it in later!)

Manual mode is just that. You adjust the shutter and f-stop as you wish. Exposure compensation adjusts the f-stop in SP and the shutter in AP. What would you compensating in manual?

Exactly what I was about to post Mohain - why on EARTH would you want 'exposure compensation' in Manual mode?

You have the absolute most control over exposure in manual mode - if you want to adjust the exposure just use the most appropriate from shutter, aperture and ISO speed...
