there are loads of members here so someone has prob been in the same shoes as me.

i sold a car mp3 player on fle bay and got payment in paypal the same day. so i sent the parcel off £18 for next day before 9am cus he wanted it then.

9 days later i check my paypal account and he has reversed the payment. i am about £150 out of pocket. the payment address is not comfirmed with paypal but in paypal's rules u should send to the address that is on the transaction form at the time so i did

Where do i go and how do i go about it. i have emailed the guy and no reply as of yet.

First step - request his telephone number from eBay and give him a ring. Ask him why he's reversed the payment.

cant seem to get any where from ebay as in how the hell do you contact them there is some much automated rubbish.

It's a long time (years) since I did it, I can remember the option being quite well hidden ;).

Perhaps someone else can give you an exact location...

Can ebay give you his Phone Number? isnt there like Privacy rights and things like that in place?

search on ebay for 'request contact information'. Yolu may need the item number of the auction tho to prove you have a transaction with him, also file a non paying bidder report.

file an ebay dispute

not sure he can reverse the payment though , I thought only you or paypal could do that

as the address is not confirmed then I don't think you are covered by sellers protection insurance

If you've withdrawn the money from your PayPal account, you're fine, he's some scamming eejit that you should visit immediately, as he's blatantly received the item - since you sent it to him, tell us the address and whoever's closest can visit him. I'm close to Northampton if that's any help, and have a few mates who wouldn't mind visiting him. :)

You mean to say you sent the item before actually transferring the funds from your PayPal account to your bank account? And to an unconfirmed address no less?

*sighs*

I'm afraid that's not true. Paypal will hound you for the money - it's all in the T&Cs, they're not responsible if the buyer makes a chargeback or Paypal find in favour of the buyer in any kind of dispute.

just to clarify, if i recieve money in my paypal account, then click withdraw funds to bank account, as soon as i click withdraw funds my money is safe?

In practice it's the exact opposite. After the money is withdrawn, there's nothing they can do, they're not allowed to withdraw money from a bank account, they are a service, nothing more. Disputes should be filed through the police in situations like this.

PayPal don't find in favour of the buyer if the sender has a RM Special Delivery slip with code proving the item was delivered.

I don't think so.

I believe Paypal will get the money back from you if they suspect the buyer used funds that were less than kosher (such as a stolen card or a hacked account).

That's right, and it's exactly why I only use recorded delivery methods for valuable items.

No they won't, they're not allowed to either.

no cus i did that and they stopped it half way and put it back in my account then give him the £126 back

i dont mind telling you all his name and address

please don't post names/addresses on the forum

Also in paypal it does say this

What is an unconfirmed address?
Not all users are able to confirm an address and an unconfirmed address is not necessarily fraudulent, although it sometimes poses an inconvenience for legitimate buyers. If a transaction is eligible for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy, a seller must post to the address found on the Transaction Details page (regardless of whether that address is confirmed or not). PayPal recommends that a seller posts items to a buyer's confirmed address even on transacations that are ineligible for coverage under the Seller Protection Policy.

Does that mean its ok to send to unconfirmed addresses?
