Okay, I have a Samsung LE32R87BDX tv, and an aerial. I scan for channels and pick up 1, 2, 3 and 4. I also picked up E4 but with bad quality.

Theres no other channels and according to the freeview site I should have loads of them. How do I get all the channels, do I have to change some options? The instruction manual has nothing about freeview in side it.

You may well be in an area with poor reception. The website says i should get freeview, but my whole road doesn't! Its pretty crazy I'm in a town centre and i can't get it, friend who lives ~5 miles out of town in the country with cows n that, gets it all!

Hold on, does this TV even have freeview? The site I ordered from said it did have.

Samsung LE32R87BDX

Whats this about buying an IDTV?

Yup it does. Are you sure your tuning the DTV source not the TV source, IE analog. The channels you are receiving, are they freeview or not. The picture quality difference is pretty obvious so should be easy to tell.

I imagine your aerial installation is poor, I would get a reputable aerial installer in to check out the setup. Where are you based?

The aerial goes straight into the TV and not via any recorders or other equipment first?

If I change it from TV to DTV then it just says 'No Signal' and doesn't give me the option to search for any channels. The channels I get are 1, 2, 3 and 4. Although, when I first opened downstairs and plugged it up to the aerial outside that my main tele uses, I got a really fuzzy E4, and yes the aerial is plugged directly into the TV.

I have a really cheap aerial anyway, would getting a freeview box help?

Ok, so as no-one answered I just got a box anyway.

I've plugged everything in and it sets it all up and starts to 'Search for UHF channels'

But it doesn't find any and asks me to check my antenna connection. :(

I'm stuck.

i got freeview today, had loads of problems with it. wouldnt even find 1 channel to start with.. i have a small aerial in my room, i found that if i moved the actual freeview, i got a better picture?!! Very strange. But after about 2 hours of moving everything around and standing them on xbox 360 cases i got it working.. just need to find the right spot for your aerial. If you using the roof one then maybe use a booster/amplifier box to increase signal strength to your tv.

I was already doing the DTV menu button scan thingy.

But now it works, thanks to Jonny. I just moved the box into a different place and I picked up some channels, moved it again and got some more. Just gotta find the best one. :) Thanks a lot.

That is crazy, the box itself? Maybe the aerial but the box!? Thats prety damn strange!

Because, the place where the TV is obviously doesn't have a good signal so I bought a box and moved it half way across the room and it's fine.

But your still plugging into the house aerial so how can it make a blind bit of difference!?
